Hey! iDestyKK here. Welcome to my first diary entry.

A start

For one, this isn't the only page I am writing on my entry into the Indie Web. On my blog, I wrote an entry called "I joined the Indie Web", where I wrote out some slight technical details as well as the design step for designing the page. You can find an early concept of the website on there. But to sum it up, I used Figma to design the page, and then I coded up a prototype just to see how it would look. Then I made adjustments and here we are.

What made me want to get into the Indie Web?

Since 2007, I always owned a website of some kind. Since 2016, I owned the claranguyen.me domain. And while I had a professional page, I never really had a personal page that I could make my own. So, here I am! This is the website's 10th anniversary too so I figured it was a great time to give it the update it deserves.

I started by browsing around some websites and watching some YouTube videos of other people browsing around. A site caught my eye, Lazer-Bunny's site. Her page is what inspired me and gave me the push to go make my own page, single-handedly.

Help with designing

I wasn't alone when I wrote the designs of the website. I had my bestie with me to have a fresh pair of eyes. She provided feedback and helped me tweak the site to look pleasing. Directly, she also helped me pick a good pink for the background. She actually pitched that I keep the cloud background. But I insisted on having a tiling background so she picked the right pink for it.

She was kind enough to be the first person to comment on the guestbook of my site too, before it was even fully published. I am happy to have my bestie with me. <3

Conclusion

I hope to write more in my diary. I'm not even sure what I'll use this functionality for in the near future but I don't mind experimenting. All I know is that this diary will be for more personal posts than what's on CN_Blog. I wanted to keep this short for a first entry though. Mainly just to test and make sure this diary functionality even works in the first place lol.
